design with invisible hinges

A colleague of mine used these recessed hinges on a design a few years back and got some real good results.

It’s the best solution I’ve seen to the problem achieving clean rotation without big gaudy hinges mucking up the aesthetic.

this hinge looks great. when open at 180 degrees, is the hinging part completely flush. if so, where can I find this hinge? thanks. Please reply to wkopec@mdsnyc.com.

Glad you like it. The physical hinge that I’ve held in my hands is NOT flush when open at 180 degrees. I don’t think I’ve seen anything like that.

Would be stoked to see it though, if you come across something certainly let us know!
